 Today movie used advanced technology.  ( some past participle are used as adjectives) 

Chapalin was not an educated man 

Chaplin received an Oscar for his outstanding work. (Some Present participles are used as adjective ) 

In later life , he faced declining popularity.

Chaplin was extremely hardworking . ( an adverb some precedes the participle) 

He was a highly paid actor. 

 

Chaplin's life interests me . ( Interest=verb) 

(a) Chaplin's life is interesting . He made many  interesting movies .

(a ) the little tramp was an amusing character. He did many amusing things
